Today’s episode is one I wish we never had to record. It’s on a deeply troubling topic: sexual assault and church leadership. Recently, Robert Morris, a pastor of a mega-church in Texas, resigned, citing an “inappropriate relationship with a young lady.” In reality, he groomed and assaulted a twelve-year-old girl. The response has been disheartening, with euphemisms obscuring the severity of his actions and little concern shown for his victim. Let us not become so busy focusing on the church’s business that we fail to focus on the church’s ministry.
We need to confront this issue head-on. How can we support past victims and protect those who might be harmed? It’s crucial to call this behavior what it is and take action to safeguard those at risk. Tune in for a rant and a clarion call to action.
