One of the most difficult things to deal with is when a family member abandons the family. The holidays can exasperate this problem. When a family member makes a poor choice to not love or forgive or hurt you, it can be hard to handle the holiday hoopla. Or maybe you have to choose to not be around a family member because they are toxic and not helpful to your life. Maybe they are too stuck in the hurts of the past. The problem with faith and hope.
Faith is problematic because it requires us to embrace the mess. In the rawness of faith, we must embrace the idea that there things we cannot see and hope means we may have to wait. Waiting is often hard and sometimes, painful. But faith and hope are worth it.
