Recently, one of my partners and I had a discussion on anxiety and where it comes from for people. He told me that he was once told it comes from four places. They are the following:

  1. Relationships
  2. Trauma
  3. What ifs?
  4. Internal noise

Before I comment on them. I’m curious what your thoughts are on the topic? Do you think this list is accurate or do you think there is more or less? What do you think causes anxiety?

  1. Chris, you think that is where anxiety originated or thy is where the body’s response to anxiety originates?

  2. That was half tongue in cheek because I knew that type of answer wasn’t what you’re looking for. But yeah, in the brain, that’s where it originates.
    Seriously though, I would add situations to the list.

  3. I get really anxious before competitions/sports – performance anxiety I guess. Where does that fit in?
